U-M releases annual salary report
ANN ARBOR, Mich.--Faculty salary increases at the University of Michigan’s Ann Arbor campus for 2011-12 averaged 2.8 percent, according to figures from the university’s salary report, released today.
Salary increases for campus staff averaged 2.2 percent.
"The quality and reputation of the university depends on the strength of the faculty and staff. Maintaining competitive salaries is an important component of our ability to retain the best faculty and staff," said Phil Hanlon, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs.
"We’ve been trimming costs in other areas for more than a decade which allows us to offer modest salary increases," Hanlon said.
The staff averages exclude employees represented by a union.
Merit salary increases for executive officers averaged 2.7 percent. Merit increases for deans averaged 2.9 percent.
The 2011-12 Faculty and Staff Salary Disclosure Report is available on the Human Resources website at: http://hr.umich.edu/hrris/reports/standard.html#ASDR. The report will also be available at many libraries on campus, as well as the Ann Arbor District Library.
