PG&E detects leak during pressure test

Late last week, PG&E detected a slow drop in pressure during preparations for a hydrostatic pressure test on Line 132 near Palo Alto and determined that pressure drop had the characteristics of a small pinhole leak of approximately 1 millimeter in diameter. The company says small water leaks such as this do not pose safety risks and are easily repaired.

As of Friday, PG&E was in the process of identifying the exact location of the water leak. It then planned to make repairs and re-conduct the hydrostatic pressure test. This work is expected to take several days to complete.
