Graduate students honored for teaching excellence
11 June 2010 - STANFORD
Forty-one graduate students will be honored with Centennial Teaching Assistant Awards at a ceremony on Saturday, June 12. Now in its 21st year, the award program recognizes and rewards outstanding teaching by graduate students in the schools of Humanities and Sciences, Earth Sciences, and Engineering.
Each year half of the departments in the School of Humanities and Sciences (H&S) are invited to nominate graduate student teachers for the award.
In Engineering and Earth Sciences, all departments are eligible to nominate teaching assistants each year. Deans Pamela Matson, Earth Sciences; James Plummer, Engineering; and Richard Saller, H&S, will present the awards. Each Centennial Teaching Assistant is awarded a certificate and $500 prize.
