Cyndi Stivers Named Editor-in-Chief of Columbia Journalism Review

Columbia Journalism Review (CJR) announced today that Cyndi Stivers has been appointed the editor-in-chief of the publication. Stivers, an adjunct professor at the Journalism School, teaches a digital magazine workshop. She chairs the Editorial Council of the American Magazine Society of America, of which she is a past president. She is the former managing editor of EW.com, and the founding editor-in-chief of Time Out New York.

Stivers has served as an adviser to Consumer Reports WebWatch and has worked with Time Inc., National Geographic, Etsy and the global newsstand Magzter.

Founded in 1961, CJR is the leading media monitor in the nation, publishing a bimonthly magazine and a daily website of press criticism.
