A royal visit to U-M among winter term highlights
ANN ARBOR, Mich.--The University of Michigan’s website, "Montage," features the latest news and features about the arts, creative endeavors, collaborative projects and upcoming events.
To visit the site, go to www.montage.umich.edu. This week’s top features on "Montage" include:
Curtain rises on dynamic collaboration: The Royal Shakespeare Company arrives for a 10-day residency to develop two classic plays with the participation of U-M faculty, students and community. The public is invited to staged readings and roundtable discussions about the works.
Paper trail: U-M’s papyri collection is among the most impressive in the world. A new display allows for more of the collection to be shown, and the emergence of an international online database will expedite scholarship.
Going green: The Art & Environment Gallery opens Feb. 16 at U-M’s School of Natural Resources and Environment. The gallery features works inspired by nature and given compelling artistic interpretations.
Budding retrospective: Matthaei Botanical Gardens celebrates its 50th anniversary with a multi-layered exhibit, which opens Feb. 25 and runs through April 8.
Ideal language: U-M students create a mural in Palmer Commons in the spirit of collaboration and ingenuity.
Creative force: During the last several years, legendary international artists have come to U-M to develop their latest works. Find out why.
