American Board of Urology pediatric subspecialty certification or eligibility. Completion of an accredited urology residency. Appointment as Associate Professor or Professor will require that candidate’s credentials meet criteria for tenure per established UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines.
Principal duties:
The Department of Urology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health seeks an experienced Pediatric Urologist with a superb clinical reputation as well as proven track record of leadership and program development to lead a well established U.S. News Top 50 Pediatric Urology Program. As Chief of Pediatric Urology program, the successful candidate must be academically-oriented with an interest in establishing a nationally recognized research program in an area of pediatric urology, such as kidney stones or incontinence. Leadership responsibilities include leading the pediatric urology team, developing and implementing the strategy for the pediatric urology program and coordinating with hospital administration regarding clinical needs of the program. Clinical duties will include seeing patients at the American Family Children’s Hospital (AFCH) Pediatric Urology Clinic, operating in the AFCH operating room, participation in the pediatric urology call schedule, and supervision of residents, medical students, and mid-level providers. Publication in peer reviewed urology journals, presentation at regional and national professional meetings, teaching of residents and medical students, and participation in Department conferences is also expected. The position requires participation in professional, public, and University service appropriate to the faculty rank.
