The School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) of Indiana University Northwest invites applications for one Criminal Justice faculty position, at the assistant professor level, commencing August 2012. Preferred applicants for the position will have demonstrated ability and/or experience in teaching courts and criminal law courses and will maintain an active research agenda specific to this area of study. The successful applicant will have an earned doctorate in Criminal Justice/Criminology (or closely related field) or a JD with expertise in criminal law plus a masters degree in public administration (or closely related field). Applicants with a Ph.D. in combination with a J.D. will be given preference. Candidates will not be considered if they are ABD status. The School of Public and Environmental Affairs has a growing undergraduate program and a NASPAA-accredited MPA. The Criminal Justice program has an undergraduate enrollment of nearly 400 students plus several graduate students enrolled in the MPA CJ concentration. The department is comprised of six full-time CJ faculty plus a corps of well-credentialed adjunct faculty. Faculty assignments include teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels; service to the university, community and profession; and an ongoing research agenda.
