POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Position: Full time, 100% (12 month) Open rank, clinical or tenure/tenure track Assistant, Associate or Full Professor position in the Rural Animal Health Management (RAHM) section.
Location: Department of Veterinary Clinical Medicine, College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Illinois, Urbana, IL 61802.
Salary: Salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s experience and qualifications. Other benefits such as health insurance, retirement, etc. are included as part of the compensation package.
Qualifications: Candidates must possess a DVM degree (or equivalent). Candidates must also possess a graduate degree (MS, MPH, PhD, or equivalent). Preference will be given to candidates with board certification in an AVMA recognized specialty with special emphasis in food animal practice. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and a desire to train professional students, graduate students, interns and residents. Experience or training in preventive medicine/epidemiology is desirable.
Duties: Candidates will participate in the clinical activities of the Rural Animal Health Management service which may include medical and surgical care of patients at the VTH, field service, production medicine, or theriogenology activities. The duties will encompass a broad range of species, including dairy and beef cattle, sheep, goats, camelids, cervids, and swine. Candidates will contribute to the clinical training and didactic teaching of professional students, interns and residents. Opportunities will be available for collaborative research and educational outreach. Candidates will share emergency duties with other RAHMS clinicians.
