Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics Clinician Scientist Faculty Position
The Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics (CE&B) seeks an outstanding clinician scientist and invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank.
The successful applicant will have proven expertise in the practice of evidence-based medicine in clinical immunology and allergy/respirology, systematic reviews, clinical-practice guidelines and medical decision making, particularly in the area of diagnostic testing. They will have an in-depth knowledge of health-research methodology, systematic reviews and their clinical-research specialty, and be an advocate for evidence-based / evidence-informed health care. Applicants must have a successful program of research, demonstrated by publications in peer review journals and participation as PI or Co-I on peer‑reviewed research.
Clinically, the successful candidate will be expected to provide subspecialty clinical services, particularly in the area of allergy and respirology. They will be cross-appointed to the Department of Medicine in the Faculty of Health Sciences and will join the clinical-practice plan in the Department of Medicine.
Applicants must possess both an MD degree and PhD degree, ideally in the area of epidemiology, and must be licenced to practice medicine in the province of Ontario by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
Applicants must have experience teaching at the graduate level and supervising graduate students as this position will teach and supervise students in the Health Research Methodology Graduate Program, the Undergraduate Medicine Program and/or other educational programs at McMaster.
