Develop ab initio theory and phenomenology to model electronic structure, defect formation, electronic transport and optical properties of heterostructure and thin film oxide materials. Perform predictive and comparative calculations to contribute to experimental programs on thin film oxides.
Other Ph.D. in a theoretical discipline, such as condensed-matter physics, materials science, statistical mechanics or a related engineering field is required. Only candidates within three years of completion of their Ph.D. are eligible.
