Chapman University seeks a faculty member to fill a full time tenure track position as Assistant Professor of Software Engineering in the School of Computational Sciences. The School offers B.S. degrees in Mathematics, Computer Science and Computer Information Systems and is creating a new B.S. degree in Software Engineering. The School also offers an M.S degree in Computational Science. The School is housed in the Schmid College of Science & Technology and is deeply committed to excellence in scholarship and teaching, including providing students with personalized educational experiences involving mentoring and collaborative research.
Requirements include a PhD in Software Engineering or Computer Science and evidence of strong commitment to undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts setting. All areas of Software Engineering and Computer Science will be considered, but the ideal candidate will have experience and interests in Software analysis and data mining, software metrics, software engineering processes, software project management. Industry experience is desirable. Duties include teaching Computer Science and mentoring student research in Computer Science and Computational Science. Salary is highly competitive and commensurate with professional experience and qualifications. Candidates in all disciplines of Computer Science are welcome to apply if they can demonstrate a proven history of success in teaching Software Engineering at the undergraduate level.
