The Department of Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center/University of Washington School of Medicine is recruiting one full-time academic board certified/eligible Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician, M.D. / D.O. required, at the Associate or Full Professor level . The successful applicant will serve as Associate Chief of the Division of Emergency Medicine. Administrative responsibilities will include partnering with the Division Chief for administration of a large PEM division. Specific responsibilities could include quality improvement, care integration, process improvement, competency assessment, professional development, emergency preparedness, department design, outreach, system expansion, ED and community growth and divisional leadership. This individual will help lead an established 20-member Academic Emergency Medicine Division, who, along with a large stable group of clinical physicians and a growing accredited fellowship, sees over 30,000 patients per year. The Division also manages ED based urgent care as well as stand alone after hours care centers. The Division focuses on quality of care, efficiency of delivery, continual process improvement, education and research. Additional duties will include clinical care, research and teaching. Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center serves as the tertiary referral center for the WWAMI region, with referrals from and care sites in Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho. The hospital is currently undergoing significant growth and expansion, including ongoing facility design for a new Emergency Department.
