CLINICAL CHILD PSYCHOLOGIST University of Manitoba, Winnipeg Regional Health Authority The Department of Clinical Health Psychology in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Manitoba, in collaboration with the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) invites applications for a contingent Geographic Full-Time Clinical Child Psychologist at the Assistant Professor level (position #10408) commencing September 1, 2011 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position will be based at the Health Sciences Centre, a major teaching hospital affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine.
The successful applicant for this position will enjoy clinical work with preschool children who present with a broad range of developmental and health problems, and a career that balances clinical practice with teaching, research and clinical supervision. Position Responsibilities: • Based at the Health Sciences Centre, this position will focus on providing services in the areas of developmental disorders, children’s health psychology, child neuropsychology and/or child clinical psychology, with a particular focus on preschoolers. • Supervision of psychology interns in our CPA accredited Psychology Residency programme; some teaching of medical students and students of other health professionals. • Development of an active programme of clinical research. Qualifications: • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from a CPA or APA accredited clinical psychology training programme and completion of a CPA or APA accredited internship. • Eligibility for registration as a Psychologist by the Psychological Association of Manitoba • Must pass pre-employment criminal records and child abuse registry checks. • Education and experience in psychological assessment with children. • Education and experience in child clinical psychology, children’s health psychology and/or child neuropsychology. • Training, experience, and/or research background and interests in Aboriginal health issues would be an asset.
