The position will be based at the Health Sciences Centre, a major teaching hospital affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine.</p> <p>The successful applicant for this position will enjoy clinical work with preschool children who present with a broad range of developmental and health problems, and a career that balances clinical practice with teaching, research and clinical supervision. <br> <br> Winnipeg is a vibrant, friendly, multicultural city well known for its quality of life and affordability. Experience world-class arts, entertainment and sporting events, family-centered community spirit and the wonders of nature just minutes away. <br> <br> Position Responsibilities: <br> <br> • Based at the Health Sciences Centre, this position will focus on providing services in the areas of developmental disorders, children’s health psychology, child neuropsychology and/or child clinical psychology, with a particular focus on preschoolers. <br> <br> • Supervision of psychology interns in our CPA accredited Psychology Residency programme; some teaching of medical students and students of other health professionals. <br> <br> • Development of an active programme of clinical research. <br> <br> Qualifications: <br> <br> • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from a CPA or APA accredited clinical psychology training programme and completion of a CPA or APA accredited internship. <br> <br> • Eligibility for registration as a Psychologist by the Psychological Association of Manitoba <br> <br> • Must pass pre-employment criminal records and child abuse registry checks. <br> <br> • Education and experience in psychological assessment with children. <br> <br> • Education and experience in child clinical psychology, children’s health psychology and/or child neuropsychology. <br> <br> • Training, experience, and/or research background and interests in Aboriginal health issues would be an asset. <br> <br> Salary and Benefits: <br> <br> • An attractive salary schedule is available and, in addition, the GFT agreement provides for on-site private practice opportunities. <br> <br> Clinical Health Psychology is both a Department in the Faculty of Medicine and a Clinical Programme within the WRHA. <br> For more information, visit our website: <br> <br> www.umanitoba.ca/medicine/clinical_health_psych <br> <br> The University encourages applications from qualified women and men, including members of visible minorities, Aboriginal peoples and persons with disabilities.
