In keeping with the mission of the University to provide teaching, research and public service of the highest quality, UC Merced offers research-centered and student-oriented educational opportunities at the undergraduate, masters and doctoral levels through three academic schools: Engineering, Natural Sciences and Social Sciences/Humanities/Arts.</p> <p>The project will involve nanomaterial synthesis and interface engineering, writing papers describing the results of the evaluations and investigations, and supervising graduate and undergraduate assistants working on these projects. Projects are highly interdisciplinary. Appointees will have opportunities to work and interact with research groups in other universities, National Laboratories and industrial partner research laboratories. Intensive experience in polymer synthesis is essential. Hands-on experience with self-assembly is a plus and knowledge in 1D material synthesis is highly desirable.
