Hartford Foundation Center of Excellence in Geriatric Medicine, seek a Medical Director for Senior Care at Wishard. Wishard Health Services is the flagship healthcare system for the patient care, teaching, and research programs of IU Geriatrics. The Medical Director for Senior Care at Wishard will be instrumental in further developing a premier model of care through program development and strategic initiatives. Reporting to the Director, IU Geriatrics, the Medical Director for Senior Care will partner with Wishard administrative leadership in operations and financial management to provide the highest standards of care and provide leadership and direction in clinical programming and education and research integration. Senior Care at Wishard provides a multifaceted and integrated spectrum of healthcare to low-income seniors in Indianapolis, and is home to three care innovations reported in JAMA. Current services include ACE Consults in collaboration with hospitalists, IU Center for Senior Health outpatient consultation and primary care, Health Aging Brain Center, Extended Care, House Calls, and GRACE care management in primary care. This unique continuum of care is well positioned to aid in the development of an Accountable Care Organization and design and test new models of care for vulnerable elders. Successful candidates will be recognized leaders in academic geriatric medicine and will have at least five years clinical leadership experience with demonstrated success in program development. Special skills and abilities required for this position include a passion for excellence and underserved populations, collaborative leadership skills with the ability to engage and partner with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong innovation. The Medical Director for Senior Care will qualify for academic rank of associate or full professor and have the opportunity for an appointment in the IU Center for Aging Research.
