Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis is seeking an individual whose scholarship and teaching reflects a predominant emphasis on educational finance -- at the K-12, higher and postsecondary, and/or K-16 levels. The preferred candidate’s scholarship would apply across levels. Individuals who are committed to applying their scholarship to address equity, diversity, and difference, across diverse educational settings are encouraged to apply. We seek a full range of candidates, including current assistant and associate professors, postdoctoral fellows, recent doctoral degree recipients, as well as individuals with distinguished educational leadership experience. Publication and teaching records will be evaluated in light of previous experience. Associate Professor candidates must possess experience and scholarly credentials suitable for appointment with tenure at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Principal duties:
Principal duties: The successful candidate will be expected to engage in exemplary research and publication, grant writing, advising, teaching and service (departmental, university, and professional). Potential teaching assignments include school finance and resource allocation, postsecondary finance and resource allocation, and personnel management. The successful candidate will also advise doctoral, master’s, and certification students, and contribute to outreach, consonant with the Wisconsin Idea. Context: Located in Madison, Wisconsin, the School of Education and the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis consistently rank at or near the top in national studies of educational quality, productivity, and prestige. The mission of the Department is to create, integrate, exchange, and apply knowledge about leadership, learning, and organizational performance to advance educational quality and opportunity. Consistent with this mission, the Department focuses on creating knowledge and preparing leaders capable of advancing student and faculty learning toward these ends. The School of Education is the home of prominent externally funded research centers and distinguished faculty in many educational disciplines. The successful candidate will join a faculty committed to integrating and aligning leadership and policy in schools, districts, and postsecondary institutions. The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis maintains active programs of research, instruction, and outreach in elementary/secondary, higher and continuing education, and educational policy settings. Housed within one of the world’s premier doctoral research institutions, the UW-Madison Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis prepares future educational scholars and leaders. Many of our graduates go on to positions as professors of educational leadership and policy in the United States and across the globe.
