Proton Therapy Physicists The Indiana University School of Medicine, Department of Radiation Oncology seeks medical physicists with proton experience for opportunities at the Midwest Proton Radiotherapy Institute (MPRI), in Bloomington, Indiana. MPRI is one of five clinical proton facilities in the United States and treats patients on two gantries and one fixed beam line. The facility has a CT simulator, and a multi-Slice CT/PET is under consideration. MPRI is integrated within the IU Simon Cancer Center, which has Gamma Knife, HDR, LDR, and conventional external beam capability. These Physicists are responsible for supervision and participation in treatment planning, design and verification of patient specific devices, verification of imaging parameters, machine calibrations, supervision and measurement of patient specific measurements and routine quality assurance. Teaching responsibility will include training junior physicists, dosimetrists, medical residents and graduate students. Proton Therapy Physicists Three positions are open.
