The Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics at Riley Children’s Hospital has an immediate opening for a Director to lead its comprehensive and growing Developmental Pediatric program. Candidates should be board certified in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics or Neurodevelopmental Disabilities and have spent a minimum of 5 years in an academic setting that includes experience in education, research, and patient care. Additionally, the successful candidate will demonstrate significant and proven leadership skills, direct experience with strategic business planning, budget development and financial oversight, excellent organizational development and interpersonal skills, and the ability to foster a healthy organizational culture that encourages teamwork and collaboration. The Section of Developmental Pediatrics employs 16 full-time and 10 part-time health care providers, 12 of whom are faculty members within the IU School of Medicine. The section staffs outpatient clinics for Down syndrome, Developmental, Newborn Follow-up, Behavioral, Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Intrathacel Baclofen, and International Adoption. The section also runs a busy inpatient service utilizing Complex Care Hospitalists. In the 2009 fiscal year, the section provided 6,331 outpatient clinic visits and 5,741 total days of inpatient care to its patients. Riley Children’s Hospital is Indiana’s only comprehensive children’s hospital and is consistently ranked among the top children’s hospitals in the nation. The hospital serves the State of Indiana and has strong community and philanthropic support, a beautiful pediatric outpatient center, and will soon be completing a new ten-story inpatient tower.
