Summary
The Biosecurity and Public Health group, B-7, is seeking a Molecular and Cell Biology Post-doctoral Fellow to work on a research project to identify and characterize small RNAs from both bacteria and eukaryotes (miRNAs). The successful applicant will become an integral member of the Host Pathogen Biology team in B-7. This team focuses on investigations into the molecular mechanisms of host pathogen interactions as a means to develop novel strategies for cellular analysis, detection, and treatment of disease. The candidate will be expected to contribute to ongoing technical work in the group and should be able to work individually as well as part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team effort.

Experience in molecular biology of bacterial pathogens, human cell culturing, and generation of bacterial and human and gene-knockouts is required. Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated dependability and ability to work effectively, conscientiously, and professionally in a high-performance team environment. Expertise in immunology, molecular biology, host pathogen biology. Experience working with select agent pathogens at the BSL-2 and BSL-3 levels highly preferred. Ability to work well within multi-disciplinary teams and establish effective and productive partnerships.
